What is Qigong?

Qigong is a 5000 year old Chinese science of longevity, human potential, and development. There are over 3’000 styles of Qigong. The most commonly known style in the West is Tai Chi.

Qigong is an exercise form to harmonise body, breath and spirit. It is based on Taoism, an ancient Chinese philosophy which emphasises living in harmony with nature.

The Chinese philosopher and author of “Tao te Ching” Lao Tzu (Laozi) is considered the founding father of philosophical Taoism. Qigong is one of the 4 main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), alongside acupuncture, herbal medicine and medical massage.

Qigong exercises are well known in Wuyi Mountain and Wudang Mountain but has very little exposure in the West. Specialties include longevity & medical Qigong, breathing techniques, meditation, and Qigong based martial arts.

Qigong is a system of knowledge that comprises of at least 5,000 years of human evolution and covers all the fields of human interest. It is officially known in China as the science of human potential and development.

Classes and workshops take place worldwide (see schedule) and are sometimes held with other teachers from our international network.

Classes and Training are available either in person or via Zoom (online).
